| oh baby. today was amazing.
so i've worked on homework way too much this weekend. i've been catching up with the new classes i've added, and i'm hoping to finally be all caught up soon. i skipped hanging out with friends and going to a movie on friday night to do homework, and i worked the entire day yesterday, including 4 hours in the library. aaahhh, my brain is fried. i still have more to do tonight! eek!!!
2 am. jessica and tyler keeping me company in the hall last night as i did my genesis work.
but, today was pretty much an amazing day. i got the chance to surprise mr. benjamin wahlman at his school, and i had an incredible time with him.
me being super sneaky and stalking ben while he's fixing his bike so i can surprise him. i know, i'm a dork because i even took this picture
horizon at sunset outside cal bap
i have an amazing roommate. lisa had rehearsal for her performance on wednesday night out in riverside, so she dropped me off and even stayed after so i got to spend more time with him. i'm going out there again on wednesday, and i cannot wait!!! plus, it's a super good motivator to tackle homework. on the way home we stopped by lisa's house, and i am in love with her family. her parents were so nice and joked around a lot and told me to come over anytime for a home cooked meal. then, we headed back home because lisa had her date! ah! i love my friends here. they were so excited for me before i left for cal bap, and they were so excited for me when i got back. those are the best kind of friends, who can genuinely share in your excitement. they act totally goofy and crazy right along with me when i am too excited to put anything into words. i ended up going with nicki and tyler to common grounds where they got some coffee. then, we went back to our rooms and goofed off. so much for homework. after awhile, we decided to go on an adventure. i hadn't really had dinner, and nicki, tyler, and elizabeth were hungry so we went and drove through wendy's and taco bell. we played the phone game, and that was a blast. tyler and i also slid down this window on the side of the stairs and jumped down. it was quite an experience. we are the crazy ones, and elizabeth and nicki are a little more tame. oh and tyler scared me worse than anyone has in year tonight. i went into a bathroom stall and all the sudden something popped up above the stall wall. it was tyler's head, and for some reason, it scared me to death. i got quite a good laugh.
so i guess i have homework to do now?? i've learned more than i thought possible about genesis and exodus over the past 2 days than i ever thought i could learn in my life. i'm thankful god provided a way for me to go to a school that requires a bible minor of everyone. my bible classes are amazing.
there are 5 of us there. i love them all. we're doing our "special" kind of hug, don't ask
tyler and i in the bathroom. we have our own special kind of fun. this picture was taken because you have to remember the funny moments in life
i love it here. i can't wait for this week!

| it's fall in california! everyone thinks it is "cold." it's low 70's with a breeze. c'mon people!
and today is september fest!!!! yay! basically, just for the heck of it, we have this big party type thing out on metzger lawn. it involves a bbq, a ton of blow up stuff, really loud music, sno cones, and socializing with fellow biola students. it is a ton of fun
this week has been kind of crazy. i've had a lot of meeting/interview type things. i'm really excited about the things i've started to get involved with on campus. i'm involved with this ministry that travels down to tijuana about every other saturday to work with women and kids and do some construction work. we had a meeting for that this week. i'm also in the aids awareness club and the youth for orphans ministry. also had meetings for those. and i had my missions conference coordinator interview, which did go really well. i don't know if i'll get it, but i really prayed the decision would be in god's hands, so we'll see what happens.
i have a bio lab in 20 minutes. for 4 hours. uuuggghhh. liz and i will survive through it together.
oh, and i found out yesterday that the princess of swaziland goes here. she's going to help us out with our aids events.
i'm giving blood next week! yay!
there are a multitude of parrots flying around campus. they make a lot of noise. i learn more and more about california the longer i'm here.
i have so, so much homework to do this weekend. tonight, i will be in the library working on my project. saturday and sunday, i will be doing more homework. welcome to biola.
off to friday afternoon lab!!!
we love golden spoon!!!!

| i went to an awesome church today! i loved it! it's called whittier hills baptist, and it's about 10 minutes from school. bethany and christie go there every sunday, so i will always have a ride to get there on sunday mornings. the teaching was amazing. the pastor is funny and engaging. i also loved the worship- mostly contemporary wtih a couple hymns. everyone was so friendly, and i was welcomed by random people on several occasions. there are 2 services, and i would say there were about 250-300 people in my service. it's perfect because it's not too big and not too small. it's pretty too. i love buildings in california because so many of them are outside, as in they don't have any indoor hallways. i am also going to be helping out with the junior high as a leader, which is super exciting. i love working with kids. i'll go to youth group on wednesday nights and help out on sunday mornings. bethany, elizabeth, and i are also going to be involved with a college small group on sunday nights. i can't tell you how excited i am to have found such an awesome church out here!
oh p.s. i was sitting there in this college group today, and the lady talking mentions this guy named aaron. she says that he wasn't here last week, but he is this week and she wants to introduce him. so i'm sitting there, and the guy behind me stands up and walks toward the front. as he makes his way past everyone, i suddenly let out an "oh my gosh" that causes quite a few people to turn my direction. within a second of looking at this guy, i realize it's big o. it was really weird to see someone i recognized from my church back home strolling up to the front of a college group at a church in california. so yeah, big o goes to the same church as me.
i'm excited about the next couple years. i've been thinking a lot lately about what i want to do as far as my academic schedule goes. i can graduate in 3 years with my intercultural studies major and a minor of my choosing. i can graduate in 3 1/2 years with a double major in intercultural studies and something else. hmmm... the options. i have the semester to decide. so many possibilities to choose from, especially when you are deciding for a second major.
i love my roommates. i love the girls on my hall. i love the food in the caf. i love doing sprints around the track at midnight. i love doing handstands across the soccer field in broad daylight. i love doing my homework. i love having the assurance that god is in control. i love how i have been able to get involved in so much here on campus and at church. i love taking walks at 2 in the morning. i love being in love. i love standing in the caf, not being able to move because i'm laughing so hard and will drop my tray if i move (which did happen this week). i love reading my bible and feeling so refreshed. i love praying in the prayer chapel. i love taking 5 hour naps. i love laying on the sundeck in my swimsuit to do homework. i love being able to say hi to people as i walk through campus. i love bible classes. i love my major. i love a lot of things. that's enough for now.
tyler's really, really ugly unicorn
me and lisa
me and tyler- "you pay!"
elizabeth, nicki, and lisa- nicki pays?
i love my roommate!- she's working on her weird faces. we practice a lot
| i love how everyone here is freaking out and saying, "it's so cold out! it's never cold in september." people are walking around in sweaters and long pants, and i have shorts and a t-shirt on. the temperature is 72 degrees with minimal clouds. oh how i love california.
i had yellow watermelon for breakfast this morning! who's ever heard of that!
i am SO glad it is friday!
